Animals at Yak Farm

OK, so we don't have Yak, but we have plenty of other creatures to keep us company. Here they are...

Eliot
Named for George Eliot, the 19th century female novelist, Eliot is independent and thoughtful.
Elizabeth
We found her in the middle of the road in downtown Elgin--tiny and too weak to move out of the way. Of course we took her in--she's now a first-rate dog tormenter, and keeps Eliot on his toes.

Molly
The queen champion obsessive fetcher of all time. Molly was our first dog--a Christmas present from Carita to Jeff in 1997.

We never wanted so many dogs. We were content as a two-cat, one dog family. These three siblings were dumped off on our county road in the spring of 2001 by some irresponsible owner. We tried finding places for them, but to no avail. Now they're family.

Bob
This guy showed up at our place about two years ago--he spent two weeks hanging around under Jeff's old truck, but was too scared to approach us. We left food for him, and eventually coaxed him into the backyard. His appearance can be menacing, but he's a softie.
Named for Maggie Tulliver in George Eliot's Mill on the Floss, she was as smart as her namesake and even more mischievous. Miss Maggie passed away on December 3, 2001 after suffering from kidney disease.
